KAPAP self defence classes in Norwich

Welcome to our Norwich self defence school

We have been running self defence classes in Norwich since 2015 and now we have an excellent permanent location on the Aylsham Road NR3 2AD. (Near Wilco’s Mile Cross, North Norwich). Our dojo is fully matted with all the equipment we need to teach KAPAP self defence classes, with boxing pads, kick pads, gloves, training knives and pistols.

This is a fantastic location for self defence classes, we have a big training space and with our own location we are free to arrange lots of new classes. Our new KAPAP level 1 instructors are keen to get stuck in and we have the following courses for all ages:

Classes are currentlyas follows:

Mixed classes KAPAP Tuesday (730pm – 930pm), Wednesday (7pm-830pm) and Thursday (730pm – 930pm).

Ladies only self defence on Monday evenings (7pm-9pm) and Thursday mornings (10am – 1130am).

Mixed self defence classes

Classes are run by Brett, who has had many years experience in teaching self defence. From a military background, Brett now works in security in a various roles, most regularly as a doorman. Real life situations that puts the self defence skills to good use.

The mixed classes are for anyone who wants to train for any situation they might find themselves in. Perpetrators of violent crime come in many shapes, sizes and genders so training with a mix of people helps you to train accordingly. Not all techniques work the same on everybody.

Self defence for women

Learn self defence that works with Sue, she has been training KAPAP for several years and came to us with many years of Judo behind her already.

We have a new women-only class, a great way to get some form of training into your life if you don’t want to train with males. It is still much better train with men, as statistically speaking it is men who make the most attacks on women. That said, not all women can still be worthy opponents, so ladies only classes offer the opportunity to train.

Sue will help you learn the basic techniques and offer you encouragement to keep you going.  Training and repetition of drills make the self defence reactions stick inside your mind, more than that, they become automatic. Our classes will keep you learning, top up your confidence and can help you get fitter.

Israeli Jiu Jitsu for kids

Ian and Sue will be teaching the younger students. There are a lot of martial arts for kids and it’s worth trying to find one that suits your child, Israeli Jiu Jitsu offers self defence in a relaxed and comfortable environment, a great warm up gets the body ready and helps the brain, improving hand eye coordination and learning new information.

Learning Jiu Jitsu when young can help them to build up a solid foundation, they will be instinctive and automatic.
