IJJ (Israeli Jui Jutsi) is a new system that has been developed which is aimed specifically at young people and is completely adaptable to what young people may face in their day-to-day lives. The aim of IJJ is equip young people with the awareness of how to keep themselves safe in everyday life and also offer a positive team atmosphere to young people to feel a part of.

There are key principles that form the syllabus

  • Awareness and prevention
Educating young people in how to avoid dangerous situations in the first place
  • Confidence
Increasing confidence to help young people become less identifiable as a target
  • Anti-bullying
Young people are in environments where there are a large number of situations to run into difficulties with their peers. Learning how to de-escalate situations is key in training before moving onto the physical side of defending themselves
