Great to have Avi Nardia back for a two-day self defence workshop.

It seemed like ages ago when he was over to do the Level 1 instructor course in April. This time, we were in Manchester training at the JMA Academy courtesy of Russell Jarmesty.

Surprise guest – Eyal Goldshten

As always, we arrange events for the KAPAP UK group, training with our chief instructors is a great opportunity for all students and club instructors and this time we had the surprise guest Eyal Goldshten who came along for the ride.

Eyal Goldshten is an experienced antiterrorism expert. After serving in an IDF special unit, he became an instructor who trained generations of special unit and law enforcement forces. A martial arts expert, Eyal has Dhan II rank in Ju-Jitsu and is experienced in Krav Maga self defence (Contact Combat).

It’s alway important to keep the link maintained with the source of KAPAP, genuine Israeli Defence Force instructors with Avi and Eyal.

So flights booked, accommodation sorted, car lifts arranged, venue paid for and after several weeks of promotion a good mix of returning instructors from the UK, Ireland,  Sweden and Bulgaria. We also several new students who wished to learn KAPAP self defence and train with Avi Nardia the founder of modern KAPAP.

We also invited a special guest Kancho Robert Hart from the World Ju-Jitsu Federation to introduce himself to the group. And hopefully, we will be supporting the Kinebi event in May celebrating 40 years of WJJF in the UK.

Four of my students also made the long journey to Manchester: Andy, Alex, Joshua and young Becky. I love to see the dedication and the willingness of students who constantly want to better themselves. Awesome stuff!

As expected, it was two days of hard self defence training. Avi and Eyal like to see mental and physical resilience with all his students and instructors. Lots of new ideas and plenty of bruises. I think we all came home tired sporting a black eyes and some cracking bruises.
